Kenard Engineering - Drawing Free Manufacture

Drawing Free Manufacture is the preferred method of manufacture by Kenard, utilising customer provided 3D Models. It is supported by a 2 Dimensional drawing showing critical and/or non critical features. By using modelling/programming software, such as Alphacam, we can interrogate the model and produce CNC programs for manufacturing. The benefits of this process are:

• Minimum errors thus minimising prove out times
• Faster time to market

Models are used by the inspection team, who utilise Demiss software to transpose the model dimensions so that the component can be inspected on a co-ordinate measuring machine. Errors are eliminated by utilising model dimensional data and tolerances.

Vericut simulation software is used to verify machine tool programs. The software simulates the machine, fixtures, tooling and detects collisions. The risk of machine damage is avoided. Vericut also optimises cutter speed and feed thus decreases cycle time, improves throughput and ultimately improves efficiency.
