Metals

A selection of typical components manufactured by Kenard Engineering are shown below which are used in various industries. The material range includes aluminium, stainless steel, and heat resistant steels in plate, bar, castings and forgings.

The manufacturing process is carried out using state of the art manufacturing methods that start in the planning office with our Pro Engineer, Alpha Cam, and Preactor scheduling System. Along with our own in house award winning KIDS – Kenard Information and Data Collection System. This process continues onto the shop floor to our range of sophisticated machines. Then lastly onto our Inspection Department were we have the facilities to inspect any component down to the last detail.

Our extensive range of turning centers allow us to machine both large and small components. Set-ups can be carried out efficiently due to the machines Queue setting facilities and 12-stationed turret. The machines Graphic facilities provide a visual aid during a cycle and also whilst setting.

At Kenard Engineering we can also machine from castings and forgings. We produce our own specialist fixturing and tooling that enables us to hold and machine even the most complex of castings and forgings.

With our FMS machines incorporating such features as a 128 stationed automatic tool turret, and with tool management systems ensuring maximum tool life efficiency, we can machine a large variety of components due to the machining envelopes ranging to 1000mm x 800mm x 800mm.The machines have a full fourth axis which enables effortless machining and culminates in the ability to machine complex components in a variety of materials, efficiently, 24 hours a day

In our Quality control Department we final inspect alll of our components. This is carried out not only with the latest inspection tools, but also with the latest CMM inspection machines like our LK CMM G-90C. This has a TP200 tip changer which allows the machine to run unmanned and yet still maintain the constant accuracy.

We also have the facilities to Alocrom Aluminium and Aluminium Alloy components. This process is strictly controlled in a segregated area and carried out to our customer’s specification.
